Zinch, the platform that helps students to connect with colleges, graduate schools and scholarships by showcasing more than just the test scores expands its service to China.
According to the press release nearly 100.000 Chinese students studying in the US, a rise of 21% compared to the last year but of course much more students are applying to the different programs and that number is estimated to be around 5 million.
Zinch wants to help the American schools to be able to fine-tune their selection from the growing number of applications and has therefore launched a Chinese website where students can fill out a detailed confidential profile that will help them to better showcase their skills to the American Admission Officers, as the Zinch tagline says “I am more than a Test Score”. This profile has to be seen as a complement to the existing application process, not as a replacement, of course.
The students will also have access to the Zinch database which includes over 6000 American programs, videos from schools and a “How to Study in the US” guide. In order to get access to all that students need to pass a short interview via telephone in English to verify their current level.
On the school side Zinch launches a China Market Intelligence service which includes monthly whitepapers, quarterly webinars and advice on demand.
