WiZiQ.com announced today that they will rename the WiZiQ Sessions into WiZiQ Classes.
Today, we take one more step to increase our relevance to education, online teaching, eLearning and teaching community. We are disbanding the use of the term “session”.
It might just seem to be a simple change from one word into another. But as words and their meaning can be crucial, I think this is a good and important turn. I always wondered why WiZiQ called their classes sessions anyway.
Hence, Schedule a Session would be Schedule a Class, Public Session would be Public Class, Private Session would be Private Class.
But the most considerable point to my mind is this:
We also believe this will differentiate us from other providers of web conferencing software.
That’s very interesting because it shows that a new evaluation of online teaching is coming up. Before online teachers just used online conferencing software to take their classes online. But the software was not made for teachers. It was made for big companies to conduct their meetings of different branches all over the world without travel costs etc.
Now there are real virtual classrooms, concepted for teaching from the beginning on. This also means that there is a real demand from students and teachers for technologies like that and that means there is a real market for online teaching. And for these reasons WiZiQ redefines its position on the market.
Great news!
