What is Your Favorite Child? My 2013 BLOGGIES Quandary

Tough question to answer, right? I believe, most parents wouldn’t even dare to think about it. And somehow I got into a similar catch-22. As we are still in the awards season I learned that not one, not two but three of my blogs ended up being finalist at the 2013 BLOGGIES. And all in the same category, namely Best Education Weblog!

So what to do?

I know, this is kind of a luxury problem to have but most of you know that I am pretty competitive when it comes to stuff like this (What? You did not notice?). The thing is, it is hard for me to push one blog over the other. It’s like picking your favorite child. It’s not possible as I love them all the same.

Therefore, I decided to campaign the three finalists which are this blog, EDUKWEST and Fair Languages, individually and try to activate the different followers on Twitter, Facebook and their newsletters. Of course, KirstenWinkler.com and EDUKWEST partically have a shared audience as I launched both of them pretty closely and EDUKWEST originally started as an extension of KirstenWinkler.com which makes it even harder to promote.

On the other hand, Fair Languages managed to grow a significant audience right from the start, also thanks to the different contributors who all have a great share in its early success. It is also a very targeted blog based on its main topic language learning which is, in case you didn’t know, the very topic got me into blogging in the first place.

In terms of how you can vote, other than at the Edublog Awards or Language Lovers, the BLOGGIES only give you one vote per email address which means that you have to pick your favorite blog out of my three offerings. See, I told you it was hard :)

In any case, the worst thing that could happen is that you don’t vote at all because you cannot decide which one is your favorite. Or, as Gary Vaynerchuk so eloquently said

You gotta get off the bitch train and just pick one :)

As always, I want to thank all my readers for your continued support and feedback over the years. Heck, I even missed the fourth birthday of this blog and another big birthday is just around the corner: Deutsch Happen turns five in April!

All of this would not have been possible if you were not reading or watching my content. I am very grateful for this opportunity. Below you find a short “how to” of the voting process. Now lets win this together!
