TeachStreet launches powerful new Search Features

As you know TeachStreet recently opened its platform to teachers from around the globe which means to online teachers. As a result TeachStreet launched a new version of its search.

The changes consist of an in-depth filtering system and a roll up of different classes by the same teacher.

The new TeachStreet Search

The new TeachStreet Search

With the new filtering system students can filter their search for offline or online classes, by distance to travel, by time the classes are scheduled and of course by price.

TeachStreet Class Rollup

The new class rollup will display all lessons given by a teacher. This is especially interesting for schools and institutions but also for single teachers who might offer lessons in different topics like teaching French and German.

These new features will make it easier for students to filter out the noise if they are only interested in offline classes for example. It will also help online teachers on the platform to be found more easily by students who search for the opposite. Hence TeachStreet is opening the platform to a broader audience without compromising the overall usability which the service is known for.

Wow, you are attentive, Kirsten — we're also testing a bunch of other things, including:
    a) integrated search results (instead of having 'online' classes in a separate tab, showing them right next to local classes)
    b) rolled-up results, by teacher (so that each teacher only gets 'one' spot in search results — in the past, a teacher with 8 classes could/would get 8 spots in a row
    c) slight design changes on class listing pages
    d) new Facebook auto-login functionality

and, a few as-yet-undiscussed edits (we're still testing multiple variations, to see which work better for customers, based on data!)

    thanks for the coverage,

    dave
