Now this is big news for every teacher on Myngle who really wants to take his or her online teaching to the next level. Myngle offers a joint scholarship with LANCELOT School.

Sometimes I get suprised by somebody I thought he could not suprise me anymore. After the “Hot Teacher” Affaire followed by the “Toilet Man” Fiasco I thought Myngle would have learned how not to do marketing.
Today I received the following tweet:

As these are the first Europas of TechCrunch in Europe I can understand that not everything is working at 100%. But adding companies at the last days of voting seems a bit odd to me.
Yesterday Myngle was added to the list of The Europas: Best Web Application Or Service (EMEA) but by now everybody should have voted anyway.
The same happened to Busuu.com, btw. They were added to the list on monday.
So right now it is a vote of “who has the fastest, biggest and most active community”.

As I am very busy building the walls of the E-Teachers Academy I am abit behind schedule with bringing you the news about the websites I observe.
So in the next couple of days I try to catch up a bit. Lets start with the new Myngle Affiliate Program.

Myngle got some muscles today.
Today Myngle made three big announcements.
1) They launched the new Myngle Pro Service.
2) They implemented a new schedule.
2) They joined forces with the Instituto Cervantes.
Seems as if the Myngle Parrot shows its new shiny biceps to its competitors.

Today Myngle.com announced a new Pro Service in their blog. Another step in their new direction of being the quality platform after announcing their own courses and signing a partnership with KLM.
This new service will be launched next week.
WiZiQ announced the start for Public Paid Classes in their blog today. They also got themselves a new look so I think it’s time to put them into the spotlight again.

A few days ago I received an email from Toffler Niemuth of italki.com about their announcement of launching a language tutoring marketplace on their site.
Back in january I already did a brief post about this platform but I think they are a decent alternative to Myngle.com and eduFire.com which are in the same market segment for the asian and indian sector. Therefore, lets have a look what italki offers to teachers and students.

Winner!
Another trophy for the shelf of Marina Tognetti and the guys at Myngle.com. Today Myngle won the “People’s choice Award” in the Plugg Start-Ups Rally 2009.
The people seem to love Myngle. So lets see what the future will bring. Congratulations, Mr Parrot (and the Myngle team, of course!).

No, I did not change the topic of this blog from online education to ornithology. This is more like one of these psychological tests in women’s magazines “Which animal are you?”.
Infact, it is a metaphor I made up from a blog post in the Myngle forum about the new visibility of “old” teachers due to the new group lessons and which I wanted to share with you.

First!
Sunday, March 8th 2009. A truly historic day for the online education sector. This day will be remembered as the day the first group lesson on Myngle.com took place while on eduFire.com the first participant took part in a lesson from 30.000 feet above the ground!
We are living in great times, no, in important times! Thanks to the internet education can tear down the last barriers and you can be a part of it.

First of all the news that started this affair about “hot teachers”. Myngle.com got a backing from Radobank about 1.000.000 Euros. I first heard about it via Twitter and yesterday Myngle got a post on techcrunch.com. Well, just another post you might think. But no, one sentence in this very post started the fire:
Unfortunately, we were unable to confirm if all the female teachers are as hot as Milagros.
It’s all about the word “hot” of course.

This topic rumored around amongst the teachers in the Myngle forum for a while.
On saturday Marina Tognetti, CEO of Myngle announced officially that there is such a waiting list for new signed in teachers.
And today Elisa Delaini, the education manager of Myngle, explained in the Myngle blog how the waiting list works and how it will affect new teachers on Myngle.

Today Myngle announced that they will launch the possibility of class sessions on their platform. The feature will be available somewhere around the 2nd of march according to their announcement.
This makes Myngle the third provider of group lessons on the internet next to WiZiQ and eduFire.
I took some days off and headed down south to Bordeaux just to relax a bit and sort some thoughts I came up with in the past couple of weeks.
There will be a recap of my trip in my private blog “My Brittany“. If you are interested how I spent my free time, you can have a look over there
. And there will be a professionel recap of my decisions in this blog here, of course.

Today Myngle introduced three new lesson packages and discontinued theĀ 5 lesson package which was the smallest a teacher could offer to their students. So what do the new packages look like and what are the conditions for teachers and students?
