We started this part with the recent fundings of the “This Week in” network of Jason Calacanis which secured $300k from Calacanis himself plus Matt Coffin and Sky Dayton. The video platform blip.tv secured $10.1 million.
This lead us to the question of the importance of (live) video content in general and of course in online education in specific.
Fourth Topic: How important is (live) video in online education?
Chris says that if one half of the social web is context, the other half are faces. And if those faces are moving, even better. Also that virtual classrooms can be actually seen as video classrooms.
And of course creating videos got so easy that basically everybody can do it today and people tend to react very positive on content where they actually see the people behind it.
I am learning a lot through videos these days by listening to them while I am cooking and then watching when something catches my attention. You learn when you are paying attention.
