Power Breakfast Apples Oats Cinnamon

Power Breakfast: Grated Apples with Oats and Cinnamon

To kickstart my day with a power breakfast or for that extra boost of energy during the day, I often prepare myself this nosh. It’s easy, super fast to make, really good for you and no cooking is involved.

 Time Difficulty
 2 min easy

For one portion you will need

  • 2 apples
  • 4 tbsp of oats
  • cinnamon

Simply take two apples of your favorite variety, remove the cores, cut the apples in quarters and put them into a food processor. If you don’t like the skin or you don’t have organic apples, you might want to peel the apples before processing them.

Add four tbsp of oats and mix with the apples. Lastly, flavor with half a tsp of cinnamon for a more pungent taste and scent. For a smaller portion just cut all ingredients in half. Turn on the food processor, pulse two or three times then set on auto and let it do the work. At this stage you can adjust the texture of the dish by adjusting the time you let the apples and oats process. If you like chunks, turn it off earlier, if you like a smooth texture process longer.

In any case, the result will be delicious!

Oats are generally considered healthy. They are rich in potassium and also contain high amounts of iron and magnesium. Oats contain more soluble fiber than any other grain and are believed to lower “bad” cholesterol. Oat protein is nearly equivalent in quality to soy protein.

Apples provide your body with significant amounts of dietary fiber and are also a source of Vitamin C.

Tip: It also really helps me soothe an upset stomach. Worth to give it a try next time.
