Myngle is nominated for the Europas

As these are the first Europas of TechCrunch in Europe I can understand that not everything is working at 100%. But adding companies at the last days of voting seems a bit odd to me.

Yesterday Myngle was added to the list of The Europas: Best Web Application Or Service (EMEA) but by now everybody should have voted anyway.

The same happened to Busuu.com, btw. They were added to the list on monday.

So right now it is a vote of “who has the fastest, biggest and most active community”.

    Hi Kirsten!
    Are the TechCrunch Awards really worth anything?
    How does a web application or service get nominated, or do they nominate themselves?
    What makes a web application or service good anyway? The idea? Its usefulness? Its usability?
    I'm sure you gave your vote to one of the language websites… Which one was it?

      Hey Chris,
      well TechCrunch is one of the leading blogs about technology world wide and the “original” awards are very popular. The worth of an award can be measured by many things. Why are the Oscars important?
      As I said in this post, I am not very happy about the way TechCrunch Europe “chose” the websites either. To start with a list and then add other companies during the actual voting process is not really fair.
      Anyway, I will cover the awards here and on my “soon to be launched” baby of this blog ;) .
      And I voted for both, Busuu and Babbel. As Bernhard told me, the concurence in Best web app is so big that they concentrated on Best Bootstrap. Babbel did the same and concentrated on Best Design. So they both got my vote there :) .
