Natalie and August, digital nomads who founded Lenguajero a language learning community for English and Spanish speakers while travelling through South America announced the first Lenguajero Audiocast Contest today.
I think this a really nice example of engaging with your audience, so let’s take a closer look at the idea.
If you don’t know Lenguajero, Natalie and August I suggest watching my EDUKWEST interview with them. It is a really unique story that shows that even with a limited amount of resources you can build something fun and educational like Lenguajero.
This contest is another example of their creativity and what is even better, it will stimulate the creativity of the Lenguajero community.
As the title of the contest says, it’s about audiocasts. The members of Lenguajero are invited to record a four to eight minute long audiocast, talking about their culture, places to visit, their favourite book or movie and so on. The community then will vote on the entries, choosing a winner for English and Spanish each.
There are a lot of prices to win, starting with a $75 USD gift card or subscriptions to educational websites and ebooks.
Right now there are already four participants and I have to say that the quality of the audiocasts is really good. If this goes on like this it will be very difficult to vote for the best. Hence if you are learning English or Spanish, or you know someone who does or if you just want to hear stories from real people around the globe check out this contest, participate or vote.
