I had the pleasure to attend the first Start in Paris event on Monday founded by Laurent Kretz and Jonathan Benoudiz as a monthly platform for young start ups to pitch their ideas in front of a tech audience.
The day after the event I had the chance to make a short interview with Laurent Kretz at La Cantine, the venue the event takes place.
The start up companies that pitched on Monday were:
EasyFav
Wizboo
GreenDizer
DelivrMe
Kameleonkid
Dealissime
Winner of the first Start in Paris event: DelivrMe.
For online teachers and educational companies I would suggest to check out GreenDizer as an alternative payment method and WizBoo for an easy to create website for small businesses.
After the pitches one of the founders of MyMajorCompany shared some insights and his experiences on founding a start up in France and to get funding for it respectively to find investors.
You can also watch a slideshow of some pictures taken during the event by Pierre Valade.
All in all a great first event and I am looking forward to the next one. If you were like me interested in getting to know more about the French Start Up and technology scene I could only recommend to come around. The event will take place on a monthly basis and the entrance is free. Hence follow Start in Paris, Laurent Kretz and Jonathan Benoudiz on Twitter and subscribe to the Start in Paris blog to keep you updated on the upcoming events. Bottom line: I had some great talks and met with interesting people who knew what they were talking about. It’s also important to show that we in Europe have a Start Up scene and mentality that has the same potential like the one in the States.
Laurent and Jonathan are also the co-founders of SubMate, a service I wrote a blog post about recently.
