Introducing reflect:ed – My new monthly Newsletter

Today I’d like to announce a new addition to my activities aiming at distinct readers of this blog.

On November 30th I will send out my first reflect:ed newsletter, made for startup founders and executives in education 2.0, investors interested in this growing market as well as independent educators who want to keep themselves up to date and receive in depth information and analysis on where our emerging field is evolving as a market.

The subscription to reflect:ed is priced at $4.99/month and you can simply pay via PayPal.

To describe the general idea that stands behind reflect:ed. Providing you with this newsletter, I take the opportunity to share deeper thoughts on interesting topics and trends which I don’t usually cover on this blog because they are part of my consulting work. Therefore you could say that reflect:ed will be some kind of a micro consulting for founders, executives and investors in education 2.0. Very efficient for me as I can get in touch with hundreds of you with just one mail and very well priced for you as you will receive valuable input, analysis and statistics from me at the price of a fancy coffee.

Each newsletter will be dedicated to one main topic in education 2.0 that I will cover and discuss in detail as well as my evaluation of its potential and impact on our industry. In addition to that I will present early stage startups I talked with and that I think have potential, a section that is especially interesting for investors, of course.

Long story short, the topic of the first reflect:ed newsletter November 2010 will be the Facebook ecosystem and how education 2.0 companies should implement and plan it into their strategy.

If you feel that the reflect:ed format will provide you with additional value for your venture or the service you offer, I’ll be happy to see you subscribe today at http://tinyletter.com/reflected and to ensure to receive the first reflect:ed newsletter at the end of this month.

The service I am using to deliver this newsletter, tinyletter.com is still very new (two weeks), so this is once again cutting edge ;) . I am pretty sure that Philip Kaplan will add more and more features, he actually already did during this week.

I just read the first email called reflect:ed by Kirsten. At first I was suspicious. 6 pages and no pictures or graphics of any kind! I was sure I would only skim, as I do most geeky and long winded articles. However, I was pleasantly surprised. She did not jump in to the normal geek-speak but slowly developed her topic in a very readable fashion. Even though I was and am not particularly interested in the subject of this first offering, she managed to keep my interest. No small task if you know A.D.D. people like me.

I am happy to find another layer of K (our edupunk code name for her derived from The Men In Black movie). Her ability to change her writing to style to a very comfortable casual readership style is tres cool. I double-dare you to taste and see, that she is good.
