Myngle is an Amsterdam, Netherlands based  company that offers an online market place for languages. The company was founded by Marina Tognetti, and Egbert van Keulen. Myngle in its own words:

What is Myngle?

mascot Myngle is the global language marketplace, where teachers and students from all over the world myngle, understand each other better and have fun. As they learn new languages and cultures. Myngle offers a solution by providing students and teachers in different locations with a complete online language instruction platform, containing all the tools needed for synchronous e-learning.

Myngle is ….

….free for students and teachers to sign up and provides an online environment for live individual and group lessons for basically any language and level from any type of teacher. You can choose your own teacher or student depending on your specific needs, availability and price! If you are a student, you can try out a demo lesson with your selected teacher before you have to pay anything.

To me the most important role of the teacher is as friend, coach, motivator and role model. Therefore there is no need for a specific eaching platform, nor any kind of structured lessons. There are lots of language resources on the web. Ulimately we learn best from the language itself.

On the other hand these communities represent a market place where teachers can find students. That is what you pay for, if you are a teacher.

Where did you find this post, Steve? :) A lot happened in between and the problem always was that students were a rare resource.

Kirsten, I was made aware of your blog again via Linked In and have been browsing it, commenting here and there. Interesting stuff. Christmas day here, so I will soon go out and do a little cross country skiing. Cheers and Merry Christmas.

My wife and I were in Munich at the end of November for 3 days, after a trip in Italy. I did not know how to get in touch with you or I would have called you. We had a great time and Munich looked beautiful with the Christmas decorations and snow.

BTW I posted about you on my blog. I will continue to look in on your blog in the new year.
