hello-hello launches iPad Application for Kids

hello-hello the new language learning community on the web which is based on course material developed in partnership with the ACTFL has launched a new iPad application.

But this time Sarah Gontijo is targeting a different customer group: kids.

About two weeks ago when I did the EDUKWEST interview with her she already gave me a quick demo of the back then “soon to launch” application. You can watch the video below.

The version 1.0 which is now available on iTunes for $0.99 USD is designed to help kids learn numbers in seven different languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Mandarin Chinese and Portuguese).

The app is designed to  teach the kids two skills, languages and basic mathematic knowledge. It was developed in a way to be self teaching and playful so that kids are engaged by animations, sound effects and all those little things that will make them smile while driving their parents nuts :) .

Joking aside, we saw right from the beginning videos of kids playing naturally with this new device. Jason Calacanis recently interviewed the Founder of DogFrog Media, a start up that specializes on interactive books for kids. The iPad becomes more and more a decent learning tool for all age groups.
