Astonishingly there are not so many educational companies which have yet implemented facebook in their overall strategy. According to Mashable the social network is adding 500.000 new users each day and has today about 325 million members. So it seems like a good plan to get yourself represented on facebook, right?
Of course, most of the companies already have fanpages, Myngle even has its own application. But none of them really implemented their product in the facebook community.
busuu.com now seems to make a first step.

You can now link your busuu account with your facebook account and share your learning progress with your friends. Every time you earn berries or other badges you can share it in your facebook profile.
I think this is a nice feature as people are always proud of their achievements and like to share this with their friends.
Marketing wise this is a good step to get the word around but I would like to see even more. To my mind education companies should build useful applications directly for facebook offering the same quality they do on their own websites. The premium offers would of course stay there but I see a big potential in outsourcing at least some of the free content on facebook.
